About us
Welcome to our pre-school (kindergarten) "Ritenītis"! We provide play and quality pre-school education for 215 children of different nationalities between age 1,5 and 7. Our education programme is licensed by the Ministry of Education and the education language is Latvian, but our teachers also speak Russian and many are trying to expand their German and English language skills.
To cater for working parents needs, our kindergarten is open from 7:00 - 19:00. These opening times require sufficient number of staff, therefore we have 27 full time and part time teachers and support staff working with children, including music teacher, physical education teachers and a speech therapist, who works with children requiring special attention to develop their language.
Our professional, creative and loving teachers try to encourage every child to learn develop their talents and personalities, and prepare for the school.

We have our own folk dance group "Zvirbulēni" (Little sparrows) for three age groups. The group is often participating in city and region festivals, including in a national children’s dance festival which takes place in various cities of
Our vocal group provides opportunities for children who like to sing to develop their skills. The group is a regular guest at the municipal events and festivals and events organised by other education institutions.
Parents play an important role in the work of the kindergarten. They help to organise sports and arts activities, and once a year we organise "open doors day" where parents explain to children about their professional life, hobby or other professional activities.
